Wishing you a Happy New Year!

For the past few days I’ve been reflecting about all of the different things that happened this past year, and things I hope to do throughout the new year. There are many things I want to work on, change, and improve, below are a few of my resolutions for 2014.

I can’t wait to hear yours!

Run a Half Marathon: This time last year, I made a resolution to run a Marathon. When I made that goal, I did not relize how big of a task this would be. I’m happy to say that I did run more throughout the past year, and I have finally built up enough endurance to run 13.5 miles without stopping. This year, I’d love to participate in a half marathon. They look like a lot of fun!

Turn our house into a home: For the past five years, we’ve moved five times. I think we’re finally ready to call our current residence our home, at least for a few more years until we save enough money for a house. This year, I want to focus my attention on decorating the place, give it a personality of sorts. I’m tired of seeing bare walls! haha.

Work on my relationship with food: Right now, my relationship with food isn’t the healthiest. Don’t get me wrong, I love food. I love cooking, going to new restaurants and trying out new cuisine, but I can’t help but count calories every time I look at a piece of food. I often have an internal debate of whether or not I can eat, and when I do decide to eat, I often become mad at myself and head straight to the treadmill to compensate for whatever it was I consumed that day. I hate that I do this! It’s definitely aggravating, not only for myself but for those closest to me as well.

Write, Write, Write!: Dedicating more time to writing was one of my resolutions last year as well. I did write more last year; blogging certainly motivated me to continue writing on a daily basis. This year, I have a project that I really want to complete soon. In addition to blogging, I’m currently working on a book. I hope to have the first draft finalized this year! Fingers crossed. Haha.

    Happy New Year!!!!
    Well my resolutions for 2014 are to continue one I made last year……..to spread smiles wherever I go and to hopefully brighten someones day:). Also to continue on my weight loss journey and about ten pounds to go to my goal of 105 pounds. Not bad for a woman of a certain age. To craft more and im very excited about the long distance craft with my sweet daughter who writes this great blog:). And lastly to enjoy every moment of life no matter how small it……..beauty is everywhere:). Ohhh , how could this one be forgotten. ……to show my horses!!!

    Thanks for sharing your resolutions. Have fun turning your house into your home! As a traveler currently living out of a suitcase, I’m excited to do this some day soon too…

    Also, thanks for sharing the personal note about your relationship with food. As someone who’s had an eating disorder, I understand that having a relationship with food can be really tough. Keeping it healthy and maintaining your sanity is totally key! For me, it was a control issue (feeling out of control elsewhere in my life). Once I was able to confront this, it helped it ALL other aspects of my life. I hope you find a similar light with your situation :]

    Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your article seem to be running off the screen in Internet explorer.     Great blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Thanks!

      Hi! I’d definently start out with something that’s free. WordPress is a great option! If you find that you really like blogging, then I would consider paying for a platform that you can better customize. Hope this helped!

    Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance.
